First: Religious Lectures Programme
Ongoing programme of religious lectures to create awareness, supervised by the scholars of the Directorate of Sunni Endowment and the Directorate of Shiite Endowment.
Second: Quran Memorising Programme
This offers the inmates an opportunity to memorise the Quran in cooperation with the Religious Guidance Section of the Reformation & Rehabilitation Directorate and the Quran Affairs Directorate. The inmates joining the programme are trained to take part in the Quran competitions in the Kingdom such as the Bahrain Grand Quran Competition held under the patronage of His Majesty the King.
Ministry of Education and Educational
First: Cooperation and coordination to organize and supervise exams for the inmates of all educational levels inside the centre.
Second: Provide teachers for basic subjects such as:
- Arabic language
- Islamic education
- Citizenship education
- Mathematics
As part of the study programme of the branch of the Nasser Centre at the Reformation & Rehabilitation Centre in Jaw.
University of Bahrain
- University of Bahrain cooperates with the General Directorate of Reformation & Rehabilitation in holding specialized lectures and workshops for the staff of the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre’s as part of their annual training.
- There is a plan to benefit from the experts at the University of Bahrain to organize awareness lectures for all inmates.
Ombudsman
- Periodic visits to oversee the conditions of inmates and detainees
- Installation of complaint boxes for inmates and detainees in all buildings
- Hold joint courses on how to deal with inmates and detainees
International Red Cross Committee
- Periodic visits to oversee the conditions of inmates and detainees
- Joint courses on how to deal with inmates and detainees
- Hold training programmes for staff of the General Directorate of Reformation & Rehabilitation
Nasser Centre for Rehabilitation & Vocational Training
A branch of the Nasser Centre for Rehabilitation & Vocational Training has been opened at the Reformation & Rehabilitation Centre in Jaw. The branch is equipped with the latest educational tools and has specialist teachers to offer two programmes:
a- Vocational Secondary Certificate:
A three-year programme that enables inmates to obtain the vocational general secondary certificate
b- Specialised Courses Programme:
Short-term programme of three to six months that enables inmates to obtain certificates in Computer Science and English.
Northern Ireland Cooperation Overseas (NI-CO)
- Cooperation in training and rehabilitation of staff at the reformation and rehabilitation centre’s
- Joint field visits
- Exchange of expertise in the field of reformation and rehabilitation centre’s
- Develop the operational procedures at centre’s
National Institution of Human Rights
- Periodic visits to oversee the conditions of inmates and detainees
- Cooperation in training and rehabilitation of staff of the reformation and rehabilitation centre’s on how to deal with inmates and detainees
