Plan to develop reformation centres with N. Ireland expertise
Interior Ministry Undersecretary Major-General Khalid bin Salim Al Absi has chaired a meeting of the programme to develop operations at the reformation and rehabilitation centres in coordination with the Northern Ireland Co-operation Overseas (NI-CO). The UK embassy diplomats also attended the meeting.
The Undersecretary welcomed the guests. Their visit is part of the interaction with regional and international organisations to exchange experience and views to promote cooperation and coordination.
He highlighted the keenness to provide training to the staff of those centres in cooperation with regional and international organisations to achieve efficiency. The NI-CO experts then reviewed the achievements of the training plan in 2015 and discussed the training programme for this year.
The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Health Ministry, the Education Ministry, the General Secretariat of Ombudsman and the National Institution for Human Rights, in addition to a number of officials.
